Doctoral Music Composition/Theory Students at UC Davis

[MUSIC] It’s a very scary thing, to write for
such world-class musicians. And I think it’s a testament to
the training you get here at Davis, to be solid enough in your technique, in
the practicality of the instruments you’re writing for,
as well as your musical ideas. [MUSIC]>>Much as we learn from one another and
our teachers, we do from our collaborations
with ensembles and artists. And what I find particularly
valuable about these collaborations is the unique relationships that we
get to build with these artists. [MUSIC]>>It is the level of eclecticism that
is involved, with grad composers and the faculty alike. It’s definitely one of the things
that attracted me to the program, and one of the things that I’ve
certainly enjoyed while being here. [MUSIC]
